SGIB and its staff recognizes the need to have a publication tailored to highlight the Long Island urban music community that we feel has not been represented fairly in other publications. With SGIB being the first bilingual music magazine for Long Island, it will not only serve as an entertainment and educational publication, it will also provide a very strong marketing base for advertisers in an untapped market on Long Island and abroad.
SGIB will also serve as a prototype for other urban communities in the country who, like Long Island, have recognized that the Afro-American and Hispanic communities deserve representation together; thereby encompassing both populations as one targeted market in one publication.
