Since my first Christmas booth at the Dallas convention back in 1989, the decorative painters who buy my books have pretty much "type-cast" me with Santa! In 1997 while teaching classes in Florida, I did some snowmen for the shop in Waupaca. The girls loved them and wanted to know where they could get the patterns, so my romance with snowmen began. I've included them in all my books and many packets since then, and will likely continue to do so for as long as you still enjoy them. | Because Santa and snowmen are often chosen as class projects when I travel teach and I always need a surface for demo (and often two if the class is large) there are numerous "unfinished pieces" waiting in the wings! I only demo what is needed at the class, then at some future date I will go back and "tweak" what is done and add whatever details and extras seem right to really make the project special. Occasionally a group even chooses a bird or flower and these also need "finishing touches" once I'm home again. Some of the pieces I offer for sale come from this category. Many other pieces will be "ONE OF A KIND" and won't be offered in books or packets. These will be original pieces, often freehanded directly on the object. All of my original designs will bear a small heart just beneath my signature. I'd also like to "indulge myself" and sometimes paint or adapt a design from someone else's work when it seems especially "right" for one of my special treasures. You WON'T find the heart beneath the signature on these pieces, but perhaps you might enjoy owning one anyway. I no longer have the gift shop or the need to produce paintings to sell at a convention booth, but I still just enjoy painting. My "little" house is already full to overflowing, so watch this site if you're interested in owning a piece of my work for reference or "just for fun"!
