A number of years ago I did several videos in an effort to help those who have bought my books over the years to become more familiar with the way I worked. Since I'd never seen anyone elses videos, a friend lent me a couple to look at, so I could get an idea of what to do. They were very short, and I immediately knew that I couldn't possibly cover a subject in enough detail to suit me. So, my friend Sandy Diggles brought her video camera over to my studio and we went to work. Most of our work was with Santa, but I also did a fruit video, a floral video and a 4-hr stamping idea video as well. They are definitely "Home Videos", totally unedited as we don't know how, and with the sole purpose of helping you to better understand my painting techniques. The fruit and flower videos are especially good to help understand perspective and realism, since I was raising most of the things covered and was able to bring in "real leaves" to show you the differences. I also worked with the many "photo illustration boards" that I created for my seminars and studio classes (back in the old days, when you let me teach something other than Santa). These allowed the students to make quick comparison evaluations of each subject. Of course most of you are most interested in Santa, so that subject was covered quite thoroughly. Each video will be listed with the length of time. Most are 2 hours long, and since I can always keep talking about a subject they usually end quite abruptly as Sandy would run out of tape. The last two tapes I did couldn't be covered in the two hours, so we made them four hour tapes. The tapes have accompanying photographs of the things that are covered on the tape, and a pattern or patterns for the project as well as brief written instructions for same. I've done my best to cover the subjects as completely as possible in the hopes that it would help you to follow my book instructions more easily. HAPPY PAINTING FRIENDS!Click here to buy VIDEOS.
