Wilfredo Benitez

Wilfredo Benitez is the principal officer of the law firm Wilfredo Benitez, L.L.C., formed on August 16, 2000. Mr. Benitez specializes in sports and entertainment, general corporate law and contract negotiations of all types. Mr. Benitez has formed strategic alliances and relationships with other attorneys and law firms to supplement his practice. Mr. Benitez is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Mr. Benitez is a former corporate associate of Kelly, Drye & Warren, specializing in securities law and most recently was associated with Gibbons, Del Deo, Dolan, Griffinger & Vecchione, P.C., as an associate in the Corporate and Finance Department.

Mr. Benitez is a graduate of Rutgers Law School-Newark and Columbia College. Mr. Benitez graduated from the Putney School, a prestigious private high school located in Brattleboro, Vermont. Mr. Benitez received “A Better Chance” scholarship to attend high school. Mr. Benitez is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the American Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association. Mr. Benitez serves as a First Deputy Counsel to Essex County Counsel’s Office, counsel to the New Jersey State Democratic Party and serves on the boards of St. Matthews NIDA, East Orange, New Jersey); Columbia College’s Project Double Discovery Center, New York City, and Young Athlete’s, Inc., a New York non-profit organization.

Mr. Benitez was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico and raised in Harlem, New York. Mr. Benitez is married to Kristi Payne Benitez and has two children, Kaya Esperanza Benitez and Jonah William Benitez.
