Welcome to the Sentinel Owners and Pilots Association home page. Our organization provides information and support to owners, pilots and enthusiasts of the Stinson L-5 "Sentinel", also affectionally called the "Flying Jeep" and sometimes known by the designations O-62, OY-1, OY-2 and U-19. The L-5 is a true "warbird" that was manufactured for the USAAF by the Stinson Division of the Consolidated-Vultee Aircraft Corporation from December 1942 through the end of 1945. There are currently about 140 examples of this venerable plane flying in the world today and more are being restored every year.

All interested individuals are invited to join the club. Our goal is to share information, restore and preserve aircraft, and raise public awareness about these unsung heroes of WWII and the Korean conflict. MEMBERSHIP DUES: All membership dues are now payable at the beginning of the year, regardless of the month in which you joined. A formal renewal notice will be mailed before the end of February. Thanks to all those who have renewed already, but all members who have not done so yet are encouraged to renew now! WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT! The subscription rate is $30 if you wish to have the newsletter mailed to your home ($40 international), or $22 to subscribers who prefer to download it from the internet.

STATISTICS: The home page of this website was visited 15,389 times during 2008, and the total "hits" for all pages was 47,606! As of June 21, 2009 we have had 22,369 total page hits. The "Member Aircraft" page is by far the most popular, so this will see some revision and expansion this year to make it more user-friendly.
