Pastor Michael A. Ellerbe is the Founder and Senior Pastor of New Beginnings Full Gospel Ministries, Inc. of High Point, North Carolina. He has served as Senior Pastor since March 25, 1995.
Rev. E.T. Rucker, Pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church, licensed Pastor Ellerbe as a minister of the Gospel in 1988. He was ordained in the Rowan Baptist Association in July of 1991. He served as pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church from 1992 – 1995, until the Lord called him to start New Beginnings Full Gospel Ministries. Under his leadership and the guidance of the Lord, New Beginnings has grown spiritually, as well as numerically.
Pastor Ellerbe is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Beginnings, and he serves on the Advisory Board of The North Carolina Pastor’s Consortium under the leadership of Dr. A.L. Jinwright. Pastor Ellerbe serves his community in several different capacities; some of which include:
- Former Chairman of the Weed and Seed Steering Committee
- Member of the High Point Violent Crime Task Force, The Youth Crime Intervention and Prevention Task Force
- Board Member of the Carl Chavis YMCA
- Member of the Bridges to Success Program at Kirkman Park Elementary School
- Board Member of the Welfare Reform Liaison Project
Pastor Ellerbe attended High Point Central High School and Guilford Technical Institute (a.k.a Guilford Technical Community College) where he majored in Business Administration and Accounting. He has been married to Mrs. Janice M. Ellerbe for twenty-three years. They have raised four children: Yokeisha, Jamian, Michael, Jr. and Chiquita.
Pastor Ellerbe considers himself as simply a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His outlook on serving his God, his church, and his family can be summed up in his conviction that all he wants to do is to be found in Christ, and redeeming the time that the Lord has given him.
