| Words of Wisdom God Can Do It Again |

As we begin to feel the pinch of the economic crisis, the saints of God are going to have to answer some tough questions within their lives. Are you going to renege on the covenant between you and God concerning tithes and offering? What do I do when circumstances now dictate I do not have a job? These are valid questions but I must remind you God’s commands are not tied to the situations of time. The scriptures must be the basis by which you and I make our decisions. Walking and living by faith requires the believers to trust the Lord at all times and to obey the Lord always. I admonish you to hold fast to your confessions of faith even the more during these tough times. We are going to have to begin to bring balance into our affairs if we are going to make it in these times. All of the balancing cannot come on God’s side of the ledger; some of it has to come on our side. We may have to curtail eating out, buying clothes, or even cut back on some luxuries at home. A recent study by the researcher, George Barna, found only 3% of Christians tithe-a decrease from 8% in 2001. According to data by Christian Financial Concepts, 20% evangelical church members gave 80% of the money contributed to their church, while 30% gave the other 20%. Sad to say; 50% of church members give nothing to their church. My challenge to the members of this church is to ask you what are you going to do personally to begin to change these statistics? They are on point even for this ministry but I believe we can improve them.
