Currently all members of Marian Community live throughout eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They maintain their own residences and seek to be active in their home parishes. Members come together as a community for prayer, for others spiritual programs and for community-building social activities.
Marian Community owns 109 acres of land in Medway, Massachusetts which is called Betania II. Plans are well in progress to establish a residential community on this land. The residential community, to be built in stages, will have about 75 households. Even with adding these residences, the greastest portion of the land will be preserved in as natural a state as possible, with walking trails and grottos for prayerful rest. There is no distinction in membership between those who are residents on the land and those who are not. At the same time, the spiritual practices and disciplines of the entire community will be lived with a greater intensity by those who are part of the residential community living on the land. The residential community also will have a more active, daily role in the Spiritual Life Center. |
