Della M. Hartwig, age 92, of Clintonville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July, 4, 2006 at the Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville.

Della was born on February 16, 1914 in the Township of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, the daughter of the late Paul and Augusta (Leuck) Hartwig. She moved to Clintonville where she had been employed for twenty-four years at the Hansen Glove Factory. She was a member of the Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville and enjoyed reading, working with her flowers and doing crossword puzzles. Della will be sadly missed by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Adolph, Leonard and Reinhold Hartwig, 3 sisters, Anna and Margaret Hartwig and Alma Draheim and a nephew, Kevin Paul Hartwig.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Ray Claussen officiating. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville.

Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 2 P.M. until the time of the service.

Edward "Bud" J. Laux, age 80, of Clintonville, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah.

Bud was born on November 2, 1925 in Clintonville, the son of the late Edward and Mathilda (Young) Laux. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1946.
Returning to Clintonville after his discharge from the service, Bud was a self-employed painter.

Marjorie M. Peeters-Eulrich, age 93 of the St. Joseph Residence in New London, WI, formerly of Clintonville passed away Friday evening July 28, 2006 at St. Joseph Residence.


Marjorie was born on September 20, 1912. She was the daughter of the late John and Mable (Burton) Stilen. She was united in marriage to John A. Peeters on September 2, 1931. John preceded Marjorie in death on October 10, 1971. She was later united in marriage to Warren Eulrich on November 11, 1989. Warren also preceded Marjorie in death on April 24, 1999. During her life, Marjorie resided in the Township of Deer Creek, Outagamie County, WI, California, and in Clintonville. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek, and also the St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville.

LaVerne Hartz, age 81 of the Township of Matteson, Waupaca County, formerly of Germantown, WI, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2006 at her residence.

LaVerne was born on November 23, 1924 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lucille (Junck) Laack. She was also raised in Milwaukee and on May 1, 1948 was united in marriage to Valentino Hartz in Dubuque, IA. The couple lived in Menomonee Falls, then in Germantown until their retirement in 1978 when they moved to Apopka, FL
While living in Menomonee Falls, LaVerne worked as a seamstress for a leather company. In 1980, she moved with her daughter and son-in-law to Indianapolis, IN where she worked at Li'l Butch Super Market. Upon final retirement in 1988, she moved with her daughter and son-in-law to the Township of Matteson where she has lived since.
LaVerne enjoyed bird watching and had been active in the Oconomowoc Saddle Club and the Wisconsin Riders and Exhibitors Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Wulford and her husband, Valentino in 1981.

Funeral services will be held 7 P.M., Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Clintonville with the Rev. Roberta Thomson officiating.
Interment will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin, WI.

Joseph P. Wenner, age 90 of 70 Hughes Street, Clintonville, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday August 1, 2006 at his residence.


Joseph was born on January 1, 1916 in St. Paul, MN. He was the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Notz) Wenner. Joseph grew up in Clark County, WI and was later united in marriage to Gladys Genskow on Sept. 29, 1951 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigerton. The married couple lived in Milwaukee until 1960 when they moved to Auburndale. In 1963 the couple moved to Clintonville where they lived on N. Main Street before moving to their current residence in 1969. Joseph was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville for many years. He was an iron worker by trade and was very proud to have worked on the construction of 2 of the 3 domes at Mitchell Park in Milwaukee and many area bridges including the Polish Connection in Menasha and the Tower Drive Bridge in Green Bay. He was a 50 plus year member of the Ironworkers Union Local #8 and was employed by Bolt Construction, Lunda Construction, and Appleton Erecting.

Evern "Grandma Evie" Wegener, age 83, formerly of Clintonville, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Pine Manor Health Care Center, Embarrass.

"Evie" was born on January 4, 1923 in the Township of Dupont, Waupaca County, the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Handschke) Miller. On December 20, 1941, she was united in marriage to David Wegener in Big Falls. The couple lived on the Wegener home farm in the Township of Bear Creek, Waupaca County until 1956 when they moved to Clintonville. Mr. Wegener preceded his wife in death on September 20, 1976.
"Evie" had many jobs throughout her younger years. From working in factories to being a great cook in a restaurant. Her main love was babysitting for over forty years. She has taken care of over 180 children in the Clintonville and surrounding area. She is known by many children who have grown up now as "Grandma Wegener," a wonderful babysitter. "Evie" was a member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. She enjoyed cooking, baking, taking care of her flowers in the summer time and taking trips with her special friend, Roger Buelow. They had seen all fifty states on bus trips.

Elaine E. Wallace, age 76 of 515 Bartlett Street, Shawano, passed away Saturday morning August 5, 2006 at her residence.


Elaine was born on Oct. 24, 1929 in Tigerton, WI. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Johanna (Baer) Menge. She was united in marriage to Donald Wallace on September 28, 1960 in Las Vegas, NV. The couple lived in Minneapolis, MN for 8 years before moving to Clintonville where Don preceded his wife in death on January 13, 1970. Elaine was a faithful member of Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Clintonville where she was involved in various activities. She later moved to Shawano in 1991. Elaine enjoyed baking, cooking, crafting, and especially enjoyed taking trips with her husband Don.

Harold P. Koeller, age 84, of Embarrass, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the Pine Manor Health Care Center, Embarrass.

Harold was born on May 21, 1922 in the Township of Oak Grove, Dodge County, WI, the son of the late Edwin and Mathilda (Koepsell) Koeller. He attended Wolf River and Hillside Schools in Embarrass, and later worked at Green Roof Farms. Harold served his country during WWII as a Sergeant in the Army Air Force from October 14, 1942 until November 17, 1945. He was stationed in Natal Brazil and at camps in California and New Mexico. While in the service, he received a Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. On August 7, 1948, Harold was united in marriage to Ethel Dumke at the Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass. The couple had lived in Embarrass all of their married life. Harold was employed at the F.W.D. Corporation, Clintonville as a Seagrave Fire Truck Electrician for forty-five years, retiring in 1987. While at F.W.D., he received a letter for outstanding performance from quality control for accuracy of D-D-250 documents in 1968. Harold was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass. He had served as custodian, which involved digging several graves at the Riverside Cemetery, Embarrass. He enjoyed family gatherings at his home, his grandchildren, gardening and hunting.

Military rites will be provided at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #63 and the V.F.W. Post #664 of Clintonville.

Edna H Sutherland, age 90 of Clintonville, was called to her eternal home on Friday, August 18, 2006 at Kindred Hearts in Clintonville, WI.

She was born on October 22, 1915 in the Town of Bear Creek, Waupaca County. She was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Helene (Hornburg) Bock. She was united in marriage to Clarence Sutherland on November 7, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in the Town of Bear Creek. They lived in Menomonee Falls, WI and then in 1974 moved to Clintonville WI. Clarence & Edna enjoyed traveling together, including boat trips. They also enjoyed working in the garden together. Edna worked at several night clubs as a cook before retiring. She also liked going to the Senior Center, playing cards, cooking, working with crafts, and having dinner with family and friends. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church her entire life, where she was baptized and confirmed.

Funeral Services will be held Monday August 21, 2006 at 11 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in the Township of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, WI with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Coral D. Vierbicher, age 94 of Eau Claire, WI formerly of Clintonville, passed away Friday August 18, 2006 at the Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire.


Coral was born on April 23, 1912 in the Township of Herman, Shawano County, WI. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Louisa (Richards) Fritz. Coral lived her early life in the Township of Herman and was later united in marriage to Roland A. Vierbicher, Sr. on November 29, 1931 in Gresham, WI. The couple moved to Pittsville where they resided until the late 1930s when they moved back to farm in the Township of Herman. In 1944 the couple moved to Clintonville where Roland preceded Coral in death on April 21, 1988. Coral was a member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville where she was a member of the LWML.


Survivors are: 2 Daughters: Lois Schnorr, Eau Claire.
Louise (Ray) Richardson, Camp Verde, AZ.
1 Son: Roland (Donna) Vierbicher, Jr., Eau Claire.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Roland, a son-in-law Dan Schnorr, sisters Anna Bentz, Cecilia Montour, and Esther Baumgartner, and a brother Cyril Fritz.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 22, 2006 at 11 AM at the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with the Rev. David Last officiating, and interment will follow at the St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery also in Clintonville.

Jack E. Stueck, age 74 of Briarton in the Township of Lessor, Shawano County, WI, passed away Saturday August 19, 2006 at his home on State Hwy 156.


Jack was born on August 18, 1932 in Embarrass, WI. He was the son of the late Edward and Adela (Hoffman) Stueck. Jack grew up near Embarrass and later met his future wife Carol Michalski while driving milk truck and the couple was married in June of 1957 in Clintonville, WI. Jack had also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. When Jack returned and the couple were united in marriage, they resided in Menasha, WI before moving to his current residence in 1961. Jack was employed as a boiler operator among other things at the Wisconsin Tissue Mill. Carol preceded him in death on February 21, 2001. During his retirement years, Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving his tractor and 4-wheeler on his land, fixing various things for people, and also took care of his home farm located on County Hwy CC in the Township of Matteson, Waupaca County, WI.


Survivors are: A daughter: Debbie Stueck, Navarino.
A son: Douglas (Carrie) Stueck, New London.
4 Grandchildren: Danielle (Fiance: Kevin Trost) Duhm, Craig, Tim, and Amanda Stueck.

Funeral services will be held Thursday August 24, 2006 at 11 AM at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Clintonville, with the Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating, and interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Embarrass with Military Honors being provided by the Clintonville American Legion and VFW members.

Adam D. Hauser, age 28 of 701 W. State Hwy 54, Seymour, WI, left his earthly home and family on the morning of Aug. 21, 2006 to be with his Savior. It was difficult for his family and friends to let him go, since he had so effortlessly charmed his way into their hearts.


Adam was born on September 24, 1977 in Clintonville, WI. He was the son of Gary Hauser and Diane Penney. Adam grew up in the Clintonville area and later graduated from Clintonville High School in 1996. During his high school years, Adam was active on the Trucker Football Team and liked playing Intramural Basketball. He later met Jackie Gordon of Clintonville and the couple were united in marriage on September 16, 2000 at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville. They then moved to their current residence in Seymour. Adam was a self employed carpenter and had also helped his father Gary in his carpentry business. Even though he was a Chicago Bears Fan, Adam was the type of guy everyone could get along with. He greatly enjoyed being in the outdoors especially hunting. He also liked playing poker, any kind of music, and was a member of the Clintonville Ducks Unlimited. Funeral services will be held Friday August 25, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville with the Rev. C. Terry La Combe & the Msgr. Mark Schommer concelebrating. Interment will follow at the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery also in Clintonville.

Norman P. Schnake, age 72, of the Township of Matteson, Waupaca County, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 24, 2006 at the New London Family Medical Center.

Norman was born on February 2, 1934 in Melrose Park, IL, the son of the late Emil and Marguerite (Frillmann) Schnake. He also was raised and attended grade school at St. Paul Lutheran School in Melrose Park, later attending High School at the Luther Institute in Chicago, IL. Norman continued his education at Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, IL, later earning his Masters Degree. He became a student teacher in Young America, MN, was assigned to Emmanuel Lutheran School, Adell, WI between 1956 until 1965 where he served as principal, teacher and organist and then was called to St. Martin Lutheran School, Clintonville where he was Music Director and Sixth Grade Teacher until retirement in 1991. In 1996, Norman was called to serve as Canadian Lay Minister at Christ Lutheran Church, Red Lake, Ontario, Canada until 1999. He was united in marriage to Lois Miske on June 6, 1964 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Adell, WI. The couple has lived in the Clintonville area since 1965. Norman continued as Lay Minister, organist and member of the St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. He also was a part-time organist at the Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass and the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Township of Pella, Shawano County.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, August 28, 2006 at the St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. David Last officiating. Interment will be in the St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery, Clintonville.

Friends may call from 5 until 8 P.M. Sunday at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Clintonville and after 10 A.M. Monday at the church until the time of the service.

Gladys G. Wenner, age 82 of 70 Hughes Street, Clintonville, passed away Thursday September 21, 2006 at the Greentree Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville where she had been a resident the past 7 years.


Gladys was born on June 20, 1924 in the Township of Grant, Shawano Co., WI. She was the daughter of the late William and Ella (Fradrich) Genskow. Gladys graduated from 8th grade at the Valley View School in 1939. She was employed at the Wittenberg Hotel and later at the Ernest Radtke Home doing housekeeping and child care. She was united in marriage to Joseph Wenner on Sept. 29, 1951 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigerton. The married couple lived in Milwaukee until 1960 when they moved to Auburndale. In 1963 they moved to Clintonville where they lived on N. Main Street before moving to Hughes Street in 1969. Joseph preceded his wife in death earlier this year on Aug. 1, 2006. Gladys was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville. She enjoyed trout fishing, camping with her sister Ruby and their families, ice fishing, playing cards, setting puzzles, and taking walks. She made the best apple pie and "Barney" Cake.

Funeral services will be held Monday September 25, 2006 at 11 AM at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville with the Rev. Paul Vanden Hogen officiating and interment will follow at the St. Rose Cemetery in Clintonville.

Betty A. Buchholz, age 74, of Oregon, WI, formerly of Clintonville passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at the St. Mary's Hospital, Madison.

Betty was born on December 12, 1931 near Caroline in the Township of Grant, Shawano County, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Frank) Schewe. She later moved with her family to a farm near Marion. The family later moved to Clintonville where Betty graduated from Clintonville High School in 1949. On December 30, 1950 she married James Howard Buchholz in Tucson, AZ. The couple lived in Clintonville until 1961 when they moved into a home that they built themselves, on Hwy. 45 between Clintonville and Marion. In addition to raising 7 children, Betty was an active member of Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. At Christus, she taught Sunday School for many years and participated in many other church functions. When her children were all in school, she began working at Everson's Super Value Grocery Store, Clintonville. Her husband, James preceded her in death on December 13, 1979. After her youngest daughter graduated from high school, Betty moved to Madison, WI.where she worked at WPS Insurance, for 11 years, retiring in 1998. She lived her later years with her son, Steve, in his home between Oregon and Stoughton, WI. There, she enjoyed watching the horses on the farm across the road and the birds that frequented her many feeders. She especially enjoyed the visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who never ceased to make her smile.
