Mabel Dias Lathom


Pittsburgh, formerly of College Hill



Mabel Dias Lathom, 97, of Pittsburgh, formerly of College Hill, Beaver Falls , passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Reformed Presbyterian Home, Pittsburgh, PA.



Born February 5, 1911 in Monaca Heights, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Anna Katherine Eiselt Dias. She was a former member of the Geneva Reformed Presbyterian Church, the Enwell Reformed Presbyterian Church of Enwell, NY and the North Hills Reformed Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Lathom worked for twenty one years as a clerk for the former S.R. Snodgrass & Co.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Samuel D. Lathom, a son John "Jack" Lathom, two brothers Kenneth Dias and Wilbert T. Dias, and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Best, and Leola J. Harton, and a granddaughter, Cheyrl "Kim" Lathom.



She is survived by a son and a daughter in law, Samuel Fred and Anne S. Lathom of Rochester, NY; and a daughter and son-in-law, Anna Katherine and Joseph V. Monza of Cary, NC; and a daughter in law, Marjorie Lathom of North Sewickley Twp., four grandsons , seven great greatchildren and three great great grandchildren, and a brother, John M. Dias, of Thornton, PA; nieces, Bonnie Nickle of Thornton, PA and a great neice, Susan J. Medkeff of Toledo, OH



Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the Campbells Beaver Falls Funeral Home, 14th Street and 8th Ave., where services will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. with her pastor, Rev. Arthur Fawtrop of Endicott, NY officiating.

Private interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp.
